As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic safety knowledge
Proficient in deep water and able to use watercraft (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without hands
Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
Must be 18 years or older
