As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with basic safety knowledge
• Able to navigate deep water and use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
• Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (e.g. 550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without hands)
• Experience working with or teaching children is a plus
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years or older
